Meet LATN’s Leaders

Our leadership team is dedicated to its mission and consumed with applying the highest possible ethics and standards of practice in delivery of languages services. We seek to develop long-standing relationships with clients based on mutual trust and the integrity of our performance.

Alicia V. Mitchell, President

Alicia Mitchell founded LATN in 1995 and is currently company president. Her strong drive to provide quality language services in Atlanta, Georgia, has made LATN the highest quality language services provider in the Southeast. She holds a bachelor’s degree in religion from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California; a master’s in sociology of religion from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey; and a doctorate in studies in ethics (pending dissertation) from Emory University in Atlanta. She has also earned a Trainer of The Community Interpreter certificate from Cross Cultural communications and The Howard Community College in Maryland. As part of her commitment to make a difference in the community, Alicia has sponsored industry organizations, training programs and events, including the pilot training for “Healing Voices: Interpreting for Survivors of Torture, War Trauma and Sexual Violence”.

Loana A. Denis, Vice President

Loana Denis joined LATN in 2002 and is currently company vice president. She is responsible for new business development, strategic planning, marketing and information technology. Loana holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master of business administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Administration in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also a State Certified Interpreter and holds a Agnese Haury Court Interpreter Institute certificate from the University of Arizona’s National Center for Interpretation; a Bridging the Gap medical interpreting certificate; The Community Interpreter certificate; and Trainer of The Community Interpreter certificate from Cross Cultural Communications and The Howard Community College in Maryland. She also holds the Healing Voices: Interpreting for Survivors of Torture, War Trauma and Sexual Violence certificate. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Atlanta Association of Interpreters and Translators, and is a member of ASTM International, Committee F43 where she is contributing to the development of the Industry Standards for Language Interpretation Services, Language Translation, and Quality Assurance in Language Services. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators.

Zully Hunter, Regional Manager – LATN-Florida

Zully Hunter joined LATN in 2013 as Midwest regional manager in the company’s Michigan, office. She was made quality assurance and improvement manager in 2014 and is now regional manager in Florida. Zully works closely with other members of LATN’s leadership team to ensure quality assurance and that business plans and strategic goals are on track. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she studied mass communication and advertising at Universidad de Panama in the Republic of Panama. Her background includes more than 20 years working in linguistics and business operations, including being a communications advocate at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and owner of Kreative Printing & Publisher Solutions, also of Atlanta.

Rosa Mitchell, Regional Manager – LATN-California

Rosa Mitchell joined LATN in 2005 and is currently the regional manager of the company’s California office. During her time at LATN Rosa has built a strong relationship with many of LATN’s customers due to her efforts to proactively satisfy customized reporting needs related to contract activities. In addition to regional duties, Rosa also manages all the activities related to accounts receivables for the entire LATN organization. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of California, Irvine. Her background also includes 13 years as co-owner and general manager of Wegener Surfboards in Encinitas, California.

Janiene Hirst, Regional Manager – LATN-Michigan

Janiene Hirst joined LATN in 2010 and is currently the regional manager of LATN’s Michigan branch. In addition to her regional duties, Janiene oversees compliance, data management and the accounts payable department. She works closely with LATN’s chief executive officer and vice president to ensure that all linguistic professionals are in compliance with the required credentials and. She is also in charge of the financial aspect of LATN’s vendor management activities. She has attended Mid-Michigan Community College in Harrison, Michigan, and Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. Janiene worked previously for Sodexo at Pfizer in Ann Arbor.
