General Sign Language Interpreting: We are adaptable and prepared.
Over the last 20 years, sign language interpreting has become one of our most requested services. We are available around the clock, and are one of the few companies in the country that provides six modalities of sign language interpreting, including American Sign Language.
Our sign language interpreters facilitate communication between the hearing and Deaf or hard of hearing individuals in educational, medical, theatrical and legal settings; for conferences and conventions; and at corporations and institutions.
We provide on-site interpreters but also offer video remote interpreting (VRI) anywhere in the world where wired or wireless telecommunications are available. With VRI, the Deaf and hearing individuals are in the same room while the LATN interpreter is connected remotely with audio and video via internet.
We Make ADA Compliance Simple and Worry-Free
LATN has a long history of assisting clients to meet requirements of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In fact, we have an entire team dedicated to managing schedules and executing events for clients who regularly need sign language interpreters. We are experienced and knowledgeable in facilitating clients to meet compliance mandates. It is our goal to make the process of achieving optimal communication for the Deaf and hard of hearing easy, comfortable and – most importantly – successful.
LATN Sign Language Interpreters:
- Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct developed by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
- Abide by confidentiality and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy policies.
For each session, our interpreters research the terminology and prepare according to the subject matter to be discussed and specific information related to the appointment that can be provided beforehand will only help to achieve an accurate and successful communication encounter. This also applies to any appropriate cultural subtleties associated with the languages used in the specific situation.
